Methodology & Trust
This page explains how TopAni publishes weekly anime and donghua rankings, how voting works, and what safeguards are used to protect data integrity.
What TopAni measures
TopAni publishes community rankings for currently airing anime and donghua. These rankings reflect activity and preferences from TopAni users during the active voting cycle. They are community results, not official industry ratings or streaming charts.
Weekly voting process
Users vote on poll pages for the eligible titles shown for each category. TopAni currently runs separate weekly polls for anime and donghua, and the available titles are restricted to the server-side poll list for each handle.
How weekly rankings are published
After votes are collected, TopAni publishes weekly ranking pages and may show movement compared with the previous ranking period when prior data is available. Weekly ranking pages are refreshed on a recurring schedule and are intended to surface current community interest.
Historical archives
TopAni also maintains seasonal archive pages dating back to Summer 2024. These archive pages preserve TopAni's published lists for each supported season so readers can compare trends across time.
Abuse prevention and integrity
TopAni employs multiple layers of server-side and client-side measures to prevent abuse and protect the integrity of voting results.
What TopAni does not claim
TopAni does not claim to represent all anime viewers, all streaming platforms, or the entire market. Rankings should be interpreted as TopAni community results for the titles and time windows published on the site.
Transparency and updates
TopAni aims to keep its methodology clear and up to date. If the ranking or voting process changes materially, this page will be updated.
